Text messages cannot be synced with PC
The file management can access only limited areas of the memory
The user is left with around 10 to 11 GB usable memory on AMEGO ! ( 16GB ). Gracious !
Bright display and vivid colors
Does amazingly well under direct sun light ( No, not your wife )
Curved glass. Fingering is a smooth play
Finger print resistant display
Poor speaker output
The videocall camera is irrationally placed in the lower right corner of the phone . Now its crystal clear that everything is upside down for Nokia
A charging and a notification LED
The loudspeaker gril is multi purpose . It output audio and gather dust at the same time
Putting the N9 down on a table won't get loudspeaker muffled
Can switch to widescreen mode of the cam without loosing a single pixel ( may be few )
The Carl Zeiss lens that has an f/2.2 aperture, which mean more light , low-light performance boost and a significant reduction in noise
Can set intervals for checking emails
A basic phonebook . Not so feature rich
Phonebook shows so cial availability of contacts
Cannot rename contacts and create custom fields for them
The dial pad supports Skype calls
A data usage management option to preset a data tranfer limit . When the pre configured value is surpassed its remindered
Batch operations and attachments are supported in the email client
Virtual QWERTY keyboard is bit smaller in the portrait mode
NFC connection is done through Bluetooth. No longer need to bother about searching,PINs etc
No find on page, text reflow functions in the browser
Multiple windows in the browser are treated like standalone app screens. They get their own cards in the multi-tasking screen . Thats called inovation, I guess
Rearrangable icons
Swipe from any edge of the screen and any running app will recede to the background
An easy downward swipe that close running apps
A Close All ( running apps ) button at Task Manager
A cross platform search app which search contacts, multimedia, documents and whatever you got in the phone and can even launch a Google search within the app
Minimul use of hardware buttons
A smooth background operational environment for apps . No any notable lags reported handling multitasking
The scrolling of content within apps ( like photo gallery, video gallery etc ) shoule be carefully approached . Every gesture from the edges of the screen might minimize it and you will be marooned in the home screen instead. (
the navigational swipe has its own hitch , should start off the edge of the screen . Misinterpretations are rife )
Notification area lets you update status on facebook and skype
Feeds of tweets, Facebook
events and news are gatherd into a one single Feed Screen which is one of the three main screens
Swift animations
Apps, menus and others are
quickly launched
A User Guide
app
Unlike many other mobile operating systems, Meego is precocious at the very inception itself
No whatsapp
The bluetooth sync has reportedly left the user in frustration . Many have discoverd it as not so functional . ( has either messed up calendar or contacts or both )
When the contacts are synced twice, it copies all contacts rather than simply checking and making the necessary changes
Most advise not to rush for it soon . Few fixations are supposed to be fixed at the moment
The stock file management is a pity . It doesnt let the user delete some of the files or organise them well
No smart dialling
Can switch between the QWERTY and the T9 input
Few question whether Meego is still unfinished
A praised multitasker ( "how do I going to do multitasking when I haven't got enough apps ?", is another section where you should contemplate well )
Upcoming events are not notified in the event screen
Overpriced. Many phones in the same price range are shipped with bit advanced specs
Touch to focus
No built in flash support in web browser
Most avert black and go for cyan . But cyan comes only with16GB tag at the moment
Good battery back up . A lasting solution at last !
3500 further improvements on the way ahead from the nokia labs ( probably, you will be the labrat )
HD video recording
No HD video out
No audio recording
Cannot creat folders to sort apps and arrange them into . As a result, have to scroll through a tedious long list of all apps to get that desired app and remember where you put it. ( At least you got a phone wide search app )
Its rumoured that the people at Nokia have forgotten a critical word when finalizing N9 , CUSTOMIZATION !
Limited app support or no support at all . NEWS : Symbian jobs at odesk are down by 9 percent . They abandon symbian and go for meego and abandon it too
A Smartphone with trully SMART icons
You should update your post! :O
ReplyDeleteThe speaker output was corrected and you can also create folders among other things.
Also: I never listen to radio and 11 GB of memory is more than enough for me :)
Aaaand, you can shrink your existing SIM card to a Micro SIM by cutting off the edges (there are tutorials for that)
I guess this is going to be my next phone after all ^^
